Kim Daehyun, Democratic Party Candidate for Muan County Governor, Holds Launching Ceremony

'Kim Daehyun, the Young and Prepared from Crisis-Stricken Muan, Will Make a Bold Change'

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim Dae-hyun, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Muan County governor, opened an election office in Namak New Town and held a launch ceremony to pledge victory.

At today's (5th) opening ceremony, about 500 supporters attended, creating a great atmosphere, cheering for Kim, who threw his hat in the ring with the slogan "A New Future, Hopeful Muan" for victory in the local elections.

Candidate Kim stated, "It is truly shocking that Muan ranked at the bottom in a survey measuring resident satisfaction in local governments in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions," and criticized, "The risk of population extinction, a shaky income base, poor learning conditions, and inconvenient living conditions are the bare reality of Muan."

He continued, "To change the future of the region, new and innovative changes are needed to fill the granary and promise a comfortable life for the residents," adding, "Based on 20 years of volunteer work and 4 years of legislative experience, I will put into practice a grand design that guarantees a vibrant future for Muan."

Candidate Kim also announced pledges to completely transform Muan.

He promised to meticulously create and implement development plans for four major zones, designate Namak and Oryong districts as Jeonnam's first educational special zones, and turn them into creative spaces that nurture children's dreams and talents.

He added that he would expand school bus routes to Mokpo and establish a university career counseling center at the level of the Seoul metropolitan area, ensuring no neglect in enhancing learning rights and investing in future generations.

Other pledges that drew attention included developing the mudflat ecological park into a complex tourist attraction, fostering the sixth industry that combines production, distribution, and tourism in rural areas, and building an integrated platform called "MuanON."

Meanwhile, Kim Dae-hyun has shared joys and hardships with the residents through various volunteer activities since his mid-20s. After being elected as a Muan County council member in 2018, he was elected as the youngest ever chairman of the 8th term second half of the Muan County Council in 2021.
