[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] Galaxia Moneytree is showing strength following news of the UK government's official issuance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
As of 10:12 AM, Galaxia Moneytree is trading at 11,150 KRW, up 4.21% (450 KRW) compared to the previous day.
The news that the UK will officially issue NFTs is believed to have influenced this rise.
According to CNBC on the 4th (local time), at a fintech event held in London, UK, John Glen, Financial Services Secretary at the Treasury, stated, "Chancellor Rishi Sunak has requested the Royal Mint to issue NFTs by this summer."
Secretary Glen explained, "The UK aims to become a global virtual asset hub," adding, "This NFT issuance symbolizes the UK government's forward-looking approach to virtual asset technology and investment."
Galaxia Moneytree, a subsidiary of the Hyosung Group, operates in the electronic payment business and is promoting blockchain-based NFT projects through its subsidiary, Galaxia Metaverse.
