Total Floor Area 2130㎡, 4 Above-Ground Floors
On the afternoon of the 4th, Pohang City in Gyeongbuk held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Integrated Veterans Hall at Batmeori Village in Sangdo-dong.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Integrated Veterans Hall, which was long desired by veterans' families.
About 250 people attended the ceremony, including Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok, heads of various organizations and groups, presidents of 12 veterans' organizations in Pohang, and veterans' families.
The Integrated Veterans Hall will be constructed with a total budget of 8 billion KRW, including national funds, covering a total floor area of 2,130㎡ and four above-ground floors. It will include a parking lot, offices for 11 veterans' organizations, a fitness room, and meeting rooms.
Although there has been a Veterans Hall built in 1989, the building was old and cramped, making it difficult for all 12 veterans' organizations to be housed together. The need for a new building was raised over time, and with the site selected and budget secured, construction has now begun.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok of Pohang said, "We welcome the construction of the Integrated Veterans Hall, which has been a long-cherished wish of veterans' families," and added, "We will continue to provide proper respect and support to national merit recipients and their families who have sacrificed and dedicated themselves for the country."
