[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Wooseok] A man in his 30s who set fire to vehicles and caused a disturbance with a weapon out of dissatisfaction with maintenance fee charges has been arrested.


On the 4th, Daegu Dongbu Police Station announced that they had arrested a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on March 31 on charges including arson of a general building.


Mr. A is accused of setting fire to two vehicles and causing a disturbance with a weapon at an officetel located in Sinam-dong, Dong-gu, in the early morning of March 29.


It was investigated that Mr. A also set fire to the management office on the 4th floor before setting fire to the vehicles. Fortunately, the fire burned out naturally.


The police captured Mr. A, who was threatening citizens with a weapon at the time, by shooting him with a taser gun. It is known that Mr. A was intoxicated.


According to the police investigation, Mr. A had been in conflict with the officetel manager due to the high maintenance fees.


The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on five charges on March 30, which was issued the following day.
