"I Will Be a Councilor Who Keeps Promises"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On June 1st, in the nationwide simultaneous local elections, Kim Haengja, a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea for Gwangju Metropolitan City Council (Bia, Cheomdan 1·2, Hanam, Imgok), officially launched her campaign by holding an opening ceremony for her election office.
At the opening ceremony, Candidate Kim expressed her aspirations, stating, "Based on 26 years of genuine Cheomdan living experience and communication with citizens, I will become a city council member who keeps promises."
She also emphasized, "For a better Bia, Cheomdan 1·2, Hanam, and Imgok, I will create a 15-minute city where urban infrastructure is accessible by walking, a care city where residents feel secure, a vibrant village economy city, a sustainable ecological city, and a city of urban agriculture and ecological gardens fostering urban-rural exchange."
The opening ceremony began with a pre-performance by 'Dattitong,' an alumni club of the Graduate School of Policy at Chonnam National University.
Attendees included Lee Yong-seop, preliminary candidate for Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City; Min Hyung-bae, National Assembly member; Jeong Seong-hong, preliminary candidate for Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education; Kim Hak-sil, Yoon Nan-sil, and Choi Chi-hyun, preliminary candidates for Gwangsan District Mayor; Lee Seong-su, Senior Deputy Chair of the Democratic Party Gwangsan-eul Regional Committee; Lee Kang-rae, former Vice President of Chonnam National University; Cheon Deuk-yeom, Director of the Korean Studies Honam Promotion Institute; Park Heung-sik, Bia Nonghyup Chairman; Kim Gwang-ran, Gwangju Metropolitan City Council member; Lee Young-hoon, Chair of Gwangsan District Council; about ten Gwangsan District Council members including Kim Tae-wan and Lee Gwi-soon; and numerous supporters.
Lee Yong-seop, preliminary candidate for Mayor of Gwangju, said, "To bear the 'fruit' of good politics, the soil and air of citizens' interest and support are necessary. I ask citizens to pay attention and watch Candidate Kim Haengja, who is preparing for a new start."
National Assembly member Min Hyung-bae encouraged, "During last winter's presidential election process, I did not forget the promises and support made hand in hand with Gwangju citizens. I believe Candidate Kim Haengja will do her best to show the will of Gwangju citizens through proper policies in the region and villages to create a better community."
