New Cartier and Gucci Timepieces Released for Spring

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Luxury brands such as Cartier and Gucci are unveiling new watches to welcome spring.

According to the industry on the 3rd, Cartier introduced this year's new collection through 'Watches and Wonders.'

'Masse Myst?rieuse' was inspired by the maison's iconic mysterious clock first introduced in the 1910s. They also unveiled a new evening watch collection, 'Coussin de Cartier.' The Cartier Priv? collection, which introduces limited edition watches every year, is adorned with the Tank Chinoise, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

Cartier described the most notable new product this year as the Masse Myst?rieuse, which combines the maison's signature mystery movement and skeleton design. The new caliber 9801 MC, born through about eight years of design, development, and assembly of the movement, offers a mystery where the hands float in the case space without being connected to any gear, unaffected by gravity, appearing as if in a zero-gravity state.

Coussin de Cartier reinterprets the maison's style of exploring new territories in a classic cushion shape. The case with delicate lattice patterns integrates the maison's unique gemstone setting know-how to maximize beauty and brilliance, and a flexible and soft case was completed using mesh made by 3D printing techniques. The Coussin de Cartier watch is released in models set with diamonds on gold, two-tone versions, and limited editions pav?-set with colored stones or diamonds.

Gucci unveiled a high watchmaking collection to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of 'Gucci Swiss Timepieces.'

This collection was planned to commemorate Gucci's 50 years of watchmaking history. In 1972, Gucci first introduced Gucci Swiss Timepieces, which combined Switzerland's unique watchmaking expertise and Italian craftsmanship design, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the center of the Swiss watch industry.

The newly unveiled high watchmaking collection consists of five lines: 'Gucci 25H Skeleton Tourbillon,' 'G-Timeless Planetarium,' 'G-Timeless Moonlight,' 'G-Timeless Dancing Bees,' and 'Grip Sapphire.' Each product was created under the direction of Creative Director Alessandro Michele. The diverse atmospheres of the collections were inspired by a festival where gemstones and the wonders of celestial bodies coexist.
