On this day, Leader Yeo said through her Facebook, "Today marks the 74th anniversary of the Jeju 4.3 Uprising. I offer my condolences to the spirits of those who were unjustly sacrificed and to the bereaved families who have endured for a long time."
She added, "With last year's revision of the 4.3 Special Act, compensation payments to victims and acquittals for those imprisoned in relation to 4.3 have begun to correct the distorted history little by little," and said, "Since President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol is also attending the 74th anniversary 4.3 victims memorial ceremony today, I expect that additional fact-finding investigations and restoration of honor will continue without interruption under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."
She continued, "The pain of 4.3 must be inherited as peace," and added, "Military actions and mutual hostile policies between South and North Korea that threaten peace on the Korean Peninsula must be restrained."
She then stated, "The Justice Party will do its best to fully uncover the painful history of 4.3, restore honor, and achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula."
