[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SK Telecom announced on the 3rd that it will hold a ‘Good Consumption’ event selling companion trees and eco-friendly pots at a 50% discount in collaboration with the social enterprise Tree Planet, which aims to create forests, in celebration of Arbor Day on the 5th.
Tree Planet is a social enterprise with the mission to plant 100 million trees worldwide by 2050. It sells companion trees and eco-friendly pots, using part of its profits to plant trees.
The ‘Good Consumption’ event, conducted by both companies, offers a 50% discount when purchasing one of three types of companion trees?Yulma, Table Palm, and Fishbone?and the eco-friendly pot called Swim Mini Pot in the T Day section within the T Membership application during the T Day Week period from the 4th to the 8th.
In particular, Tree Planet plans to engrave the names of event participants (based on the product recipient) on a commemorative plaque to be installed in the forest created using part of the profits and external funding.
The forest will be established in Mindungsan, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, a site that requires reforestation due to logging. Tree Planet plans to plant coniferous and broadleaf trees to help prevent forest fires, with the forest creation scheduled to be completed within this year.
The price is 13,750 KRW, half of the regular price of 27,500 KRW.
T Membership’s ‘Good Consumption’ program supports marketing activities of social enterprises and startups by providing a sales corner within the T Membership app and sharing the discount costs with SKT for the event.
