[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] RG Tech, a total solution company for serving robots, announced on the 3rd that it has completed the development of the autonomous serving robot 'Sirbot' equipped with ordering and payment functions. RG Tech is a startup that provides a total solution for the entire process from development of multifunctional modular serving robots using 100% domestic technology to distribution and management.

The newly developed serving robot 'Sirbot' is characterized by its ability to serve food, clear tables, as well as handle ordering and payment. A 20-inch large display and an IC card reader have been installed on RG Tech's existing serving robot. Customers can check and order menus through the large display attached to the back of Sirbot. Once an order is received, Sirbot is responsible for serving and clearing tables.

Customers can complete payment without contact with staff, allowing the entire dining experience to be conducted non-face-to-face. According to the company, self-employed business owners can reduce costs as they do not need to purchase separate tablets for table orders.

RG Tech's Sirbot is equipped with LIDAR sensors and 3D cameras, enabling it to recognize spaces autonomously without additional parts installation or interior construction, allowing real-time autonomous driving without blind spots. Its obstacle avoidance capability is excellent, ensuring safe driving even in unexpected situations such as sudden movements of people or objects.

RG Tech plans to proceed with mass production of Sirbot after conducting on-site technical verification (PoC) at restaurants, reflecting field opinions and improving issues. CEO Jeong Hojung of RG Tech said, “In addition to the Sirbot we have just completed developing, we are preparing a new lineup by the end of April. We will continue to do our best to develop serving robots that can be the hands and feet of self-employed business owners.”
