Pohang City Awards Meritorious Persons Dedicated to the Community on the 54th Anniversary of 'Reserve Forces Day'

Pohang City awarded commendations to meritorious individuals dedicated to the local community on the 54th anniversary of 'Reserve Forces Day' held on the 1st.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Integrated Defense Council of Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, awarded commendations to meritorious individuals on the 1st in celebration of the 54th Reserve Forces Day.

The 54th Reserve Forces Day event was held in a simplified manner at the city hall to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, and five individuals, including Jeong Yeon-ho, advisor of the Yeonil-eup Defense Council, received commendations.

Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang (Chairman of the Integrated Defense Council), said, “I sincerely thank the meritorious individuals for their dedication to national defense and the local community,” and encouraged the awardees by saying, “I hope you will continue to lend your strength as we overcome these crises together.”

Reserve Forces Day, established with the purpose of reaffirming the mission of national defense, is observed annually on the first Friday of April.
