Among 33 Reported Individuals, 11 Exceed 2 Billion KRW... 8 Show Asset Decrease

The average assets of senior officials at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliated institutions were recorded at approximately 2.58 billion KRW.
According to the '2022 Regular Asset Change Report' published in the government gazette by the Government Official Ethics Committee on the 31st, the average assets of 33 reporting individuals from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliated institutions amounted to 2,582,427,000 KRW. This is an increase of 101,825,000 KRW compared to last year. Among the subjects, eight individuals saw a decrease in their assets, but the assets of Moon Young-ho, CEO of the Arts Management Support Center, and Choi Byung-gu, Chairman of the Korea Copyright Commission, increased significantly, raising the overall average.
There are 27 senior officials with assets exceeding 1 billion KRW, of whom eleven have assets over 2 billion KRW. Minister Hwang Hee reported assets of 609,590,000 KRW, which is not significantly different from last year's 609,480,000 KRW. First Vice Minister Kim Hyun-hwan reported 1,770,840,000 KRW, an increase of 74,610,000 KRW from last year due to the termination of a monthly rent lease contract and receipt of apartment sale proceeds. Second Vice Minister Oh Young-woo reported 1,879,960,000 KRW, an increase of 394,990,000 KRW from last year, and Deputy Vice Minister Han Hyung-min reported 1,891,610,000 KRW, an increase of 127,440,000 KRW.
Among the affiliated institutions' reporters, the senior official with the highest assets is Kim Dae-jin, President of Korea National University of Arts. Despite a decrease of 2,564,730,000 KRW from last year due to the reduced actual transaction price of the spouse's multi-family house (Yongsan, Seoul), the assets still amounted to 13,329,590,000 KRW. Joo Jin-sook, Director of the Korean Film Archive, reported the second highest assets at 9,834,760,000 KRW, an increase of 258,600,000 KRW from last year.
Other affiliated institution heads with assets exceeding 2 billion KRW include Park Jeong-ryeol, Director of the Overseas Culture and Publicity Service (3,520,530,000 KRW); Joo Dong-won, President of the International Broadcasting Exchange Foundation (3,796,200,000 KRW); Yoo Young-dae, President of Gugak FM (4,139,050,000 KRW); Moon Young-ho, CEO of the Arts Management Support Center (5,848,980,000 KRW); Lee Hae-young, Chairman of the Sejong Institute Foundation (4,335,410,000 KRW); Cho Hyun-rae, President of the Korea Creative Content Agency (2,146,460,000 KRW); Park Joo-hwan, President of the Korea Copyright Protection Agency (2,081,200,000 KRW); Hong Hee-kyung, Director of the Korea Culture Information Service (3,464,690,000 KRW); and Jeong Gil-hwa, Director of the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (2,354,720,000 KRW).
