[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon reported assets exceeding 5.9 billion won, an increase of more than 1 billion won compared to before. This is the largest increase among metropolitan government heads.

On the 31st, the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee disclosed the asset disclosure details of public officials subject to disclosure, including political appointees under the executive branch, senior public officials, metropolitan and basic local government heads, metropolitan council members, and city/provincial superintendents of education, through the official gazette.

Mayor Oh reported 5.9026 billion won this time, with a total increase amounting to 1.02238 billion won. Following him was Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, who reported 2.14523 billion won, an increase of 617.12 million won. Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, reported 4.68457 billion won, up by 392.78 million won, and Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, reported 1.8061 billion won, an increase of 301.95 million won.

Mayor Oh, who reported the largest assets among metropolitan heads, was found to have bought and sold listed stocks in defiance of the blind trust system after returning as Seoul Mayor through a by-election. The securities value held by Mayor Oh and his spouse decreased by 232.81 million won from the previously reported 1.43263 billion won. In April last year, he contested the Personnel Innovation Department's Stock Blind Trust Review Committee's decision to dispose of stocks due to 'job relevance' by filing an administrative appeal with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and the review process is ongoing.

So far, Mayor Oh reported purchasing an additional 3,500 shares of HLB stock, holding a total of 10,162 shares, and his spouse also purchased 9,282 shares, holding 12,772 shares. His spouse additionally purchased 1,000 shares of HLB Life Science, an affiliate company, holding 1,920 shares. The couple also sold listed stocks including Samsung Biologics, Kiwoom Securities, and Maxstec. It was confirmed that they still hold stocks such as Celltrion and SillaJen.

Meanwhile, Minister of the Interior and Safety Jeon Hae-cheol reported 3.92688 billion won, a decrease of more than 58 million won, marking the largest decrease in total assets among the Prime Minister and cabinet members.
