[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE, will serve as the general producer for the debut album of the rookie girl group LE SSERAFIM, set to debut in May.
Source Music, a label under HYBE, announced on the 30th that Chairman Bang is in charge of the overall production of LE SSERAFIM's debut album.
LE SSERAFIM is a six-member girl group consisting of Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon, former members of the girl group IZ*ONE, along with Heo Yunjin, who participated in 'Produce 48.' The group is receiving much attention as HYBE's first girl group, featuring popular members who gained recognition through their debut with IZ*ONE.
The name LE SSERAFIM is an anagram of 'IM FEARLESS.' It carries the meaning of moving forward fearlessly without being shaken by the world's gaze.
The only girl group introduced by HYBE before its name change was 'GLAM,' which collaborated with Source Music during the Big Hit Entertainment era in 2012.
A Source Music official said, "Bang Si-hyuk is the person who elevated BTS to the ranks of global artists and has consecutively succeeded with Tomorrow X Together and ENHYPEN. The fact that he is in charge of the overall production has increased expectations for LE SSERAFIM even more."
