Support for Social Welfare Facilities and Medically Vulnerable Groups to Prevent COVID-19 Infection
O2M Begins Social Contribution Projects by Fulfilling Social Contribution Week Sharing Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 30th that it will hold a 'Mask Donation Ceremony for Vulnerable Groups' in collaboration with O2M and the Seoul Social Welfare Council. Attending the ceremony are Gu Jong-won, Director of Welfare Planning at Seoul City, Seo Jun-geol, CEO of O2M, and Kim Hyun-hoon, Chairman of the Seoul Social Welfare Council.
The donated KF94 protective masks will be distributed to vulnerable groups through social welfare institutions within Seoul, including social welfare centers, disability welfare centers, facilities for the disabled, single-parent family welfare facilities, and local children's centers.
This donation holds great significance as it directly implements welfare service support for vulnerable groups following the sharing agreement made last year among Seoul City, O2M, and the Seoul Social Welfare Council during the 'Social Contribution Week.' Social Contribution Week is an event promoted since 2018 by Seoul City in partnership with the Seoul Social Welfare Council to provide total services such as consulting, promotion, and support for successful social contribution projects by companies and organizations.
Kim Hyun-hoon, Chairman of the Seoul Social Welfare Council, said, “We thank O2M for delivering warm hearts to Seoul’s social welfare facilities through the donation of goods,” adding, “The Seoul Social Contribution Center will continue to expand the development of private resources and take the lead in solving various community issues.”
Gu Jong-won, Director of Welfare Planning at Seoul City, said, “We are pleased to be able to deliver masks, which are essential for supporting daily recovery, to welfare facilities used by many vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled,” and added, “Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, we deeply appreciate the warm sharing of companies actively participating in social contribution projects, and we will strive even harder to enhance the welfare of Seoul citizens with the support of such precious sharing.”
