Coupang Launches Free Product Exposure Promotion to Support Marketplace Sellers


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 28th that it has been conducting a pilot service for a free product exposure promotion targeting food sellers registered on Coupang Marketplace since the last quarter. Any food company registered on Coupang can apply, and selected sellers can display their products on one of the main spots on the Coupang page without any additional cost.


So far, Coupang explained that various registered companies, including those dealing in meat, seafood, and health foods, have participated in the promotion and achieved high sales effects. 'Suncheonman Susan,' which sells directly shipped seafood, saw its monthly sales jump from around 40 million KRW to 100 million KRW after participating in this promotion. 'Branddak,' a company specializing in processed chicken breast products with over 40% of its sales coming from Coupang, was also able to secure long-term customers through participation in the promotion.


Coupang plans to expand this promotion, which was limited to food, to other categories this year. A Coupang official said, "We planned this promotion to provide new opportunities to sellers who face difficulties in marketing even if they produce competitive products," adding, "Going forward, Coupang will continue to make active efforts to connect companies producing high-quality products with consumers."
