Seoul City to Hold Monthly Job Empathy Live Special Lectures 'Job談 Camp' Starting March

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 28th that starting in March, it will regularly hold the employment live special lecture "Job談 Camp: Employment Empathy Live Special Lecture for Youth" on the last Monday of every month, tailored to the recruitment season and the needs of on-site job seekers.

Seoul decided to operate the "Employment Live Special Lecture" regularly every month from March this year due to the high on-site response.

This year's employment live special lectures will be held monthly on various topics according to the recruitment season and youth demand. In March, the topic will be how to write a self-introduction letter; in April, successful interview techniques; and in May, AI competency test analysis. In June and July, job seekers who participated in Seoul's representative youth employment support projects, the Youth Employment Academy and the Seoul-type Youth Intern Job Camp, will appear to share their know-how for employment success.

The first live special lecture of this year will be held at 9 p.m. on the 28th. A recruitment officer from a major corporation (Lotte Holdings HR team) will appear to listen to the concerns of young people preparing for the first half of this year's open recruitment regarding self-introduction letter writing, and provide realistic advice and information for completing a successful self-introduction letter. The event will be hosted by Jacob, a job YouTuber with over 260,000 subscribers (YouTube channel ‘Insadamdangja’).

In this live special lecture, to complete a successful self-introduction letter, a current major corporation recruitment officer will directly explain points to note when writing the letter, and will conduct a focused analysis on each self-introduction letter section such as motivation for application, job experience, growth process, and aspirations after joining. Various concerns about writing the self-introduction letter can be communicated in real time with the major corporation recruitment officer.

In addition to the monthly employment live special lectures, Seoul plans to operate "Current Employee Job Mentoring" via Zoom live at all times, where current employees from highly preferred companies by youth, such as major corporations, public enterprises, and foreign companies, participate to introduce company-specific recruitment processes and job preparation methods.

Meanwhile, to support youth job seekers, Seoul provides various employment support services both online and offline at about 50 Seoul Job Cafes across the city. In particular, dedicated spaces for non-face-to-face interviews are provided free of charge to young job seekers at Citizen Hall Youth Vitality Center, Seoul Youth Job Center, and Gangdong Job Cafe.

Park Dae-woo, Director of Economic and Job Planning at Seoul City, said, "The employment live special lectures, started for non-face-to-face employment support, received great empathy and response on-site as participants could hear the know-how of senior job seekers and listen to real stories such as self-introduction letters and job-specific interview types tailored to the perspective of HR officers. We plan to provide multifaceted employment support services not only by offering timely and job-specific employment information through various channels but also through accessible employment information hubs such as Seoul Job Cafes and Youth Vitality Centers."
