[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Park Chan-dae and Jin Sung-jun have been appointed as the new senior deputy floor leaders of the Democratic Party of Korea.

On the afternoon of the 25th, Park Hong-geun, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, held a press conference at the National Assembly and announced that Park was appointed as the senior policy deputy floor leader and Jin as the senior operations deputy floor leader.

Floor leader Park said, "Representative Jin has been directly working on the ground in the livelihood sector, dedicating himself to policies and legislative activities for the people. Currently serving as the chairman of the party's Euljiro Committee, he actively communicates with the public on-site and achieves results with strong drive, making him the best candidate to build a ruling party responsible for the people's livelihood." He added, "Representative Park has served as the 7th Policy Coordination Committee chairman and the senior spokesperson of the election campaign committee, demonstrating outstanding skills in policy, communication, and publicity. With his expertise and communication abilities, he will continue to facilitate communication between our party and lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties."

Representative Park began his political career in 2014 after engaging in civic movements in the Incheon area. Last year, he served as the chief spokesperson for former Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung's campaign and also acted as the senior spokesperson for the election campaign committee during the general election. Representative Jin is classified as a pro-Moon Jae-in lawmaker, having served as the Secretary for Political Planning at the Blue House from 2017 to 2018.
