New York Korean Cultural Center to Host 'Lee Jung-jae Special Exhibition' Throughout April


[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] The Korean Cultural Center New York announced on the 24th (local time) that it will hold a free screening event titled 'Actor Lee Jung-jae Special Exhibition' throughout April on the Cultural Center's website, introducing films starring actor Lee Jung-jae.


This is part of the online Korean film screening program conducted by the Cultural Center this year. The Cultural Center selected Lee Jung-jae, who has recently gained worldwide popularity, as the first actor in the actor series. With 29 years of acting experience, Lee Jung-jae made history last year by winning the 'Best Actor' award in the Drama Series category at the American Actors Guild Awards and the Critics' Choice Awards, as well as the Independent Film Award in the TV category, as the first Korean film actor for his outstanding performance as Seong Gi-hun, the protagonist of the Netflix series 'Squid Game'.


This special exhibition will screen six films starring Lee Jung-jae, including the crime-action film 'Deliver Us from Evil (2020)' directed by Hong Won-chan and starring Hwang Jung-min, Park Jung-min, and Park So-yi; the action-drama 'Assassination (2015)' directed by Choi Dong-hoon and starring Jun Ji-hyun and Ha Jung-woo; the action film 'Big Match (2014)' directed by Choi Ho and starring Shin Ha-kyun; the crime-drama 'New World (2013)' directed by Park Hoon-jung and starring Choi Min-sik and Hwang Jung-min; the action-drama 'The Thieves (2013)' directed by Choi Dong-hoon and starring Kim Yun-seok, Kim Hye-soo, Jun Ji-hyun, and Kim Soo-hyun; and the romance film 'Il Mare (2000)', the first Korean film to be remade in Hollywood, in which Lee Jung-jae also played a leading role.


All films will be provided with English subtitles and can be viewed for free by accessing the Cultural Center's website from May 1 to 30.
