SK Square Issues Cryptocurrency... Expanding the Blockchain Ecosystem

On the 23rd, SK Square stated, "We are preparing blockchain services with affiliated companies and plan to communicate transparently with the market when the cryptocurrency issuance becomes concrete." SK Planet has been operating a blockchain task force (TF) since early this year to prepare related businesses.

SK Square is actively expanding the blockchain ecosystem. Previously, after the spin-off from SK Telecom at the end of last year, SK Square invested 87.3 billion KRW in the cryptocurrency exchange Kopit. Its subsidiary, SK Planet, signed a business agreement with Kopit to discover projects to revitalize blockchain business. SK Group's cryptocurrency is expected to be utilized in various ways such as SK Telecom's metaverse platform 'Ifland', 11st, and online video services (OTT).
