[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon announced the publication of the Moon Jae-in administration’s government white paper on the 22nd, stating, "President Moon approached governance very seriously, and the cabinet also did their best in their own way."

On the same day, Lee shared the website address of the government white paper on his Facebook, saying, "The evaluation of the government belongs to the people and to history." This is the first time Lee has posted on social media since the March 9 presidential election.

He explained, "The Moon Jae-in administration began work without a transition committee in a very special situation of a governance vacuum following the president’s impeachment," adding, "Therefore, immediately after its launch, a temporary body called the 'People’s Transition Committee' was established to formulate a five-year national governance plan and 100 major national tasks."

He continued, "You can review how these tasks have been implemented over the five years and how the lives of the people have changed in the 'Moon Jae-in Government People’s Report,'" and added, "Each report item is carefully organized so that you can directly access related policy materials to view detailed content."

Furthermore, he said, "The Moon Jae-in administration also has its achievements and shortcomings. I, who served as Prime Minister for more than half of the Moon administration, also have achievements and shortcomings and will be evaluated by the people and history," adding, "The 2 years, 7 months, and 13 days I served as Prime Minister was the most fulfilling period of my life. I cherish it as an honor."

Finally, Lee concluded his post by saying, "We learn a lot not only through achievements but also through mistakes," and "Sometimes we learn more painfully through mistakes than through achievements."

Meanwhile, the Blue House unveiled the webpage 'Moon Jae-in Government People’s Report' on the 20th, which contains the results of five years of governance under the Moon administration. The 'People’s Report' is an online white paper prepared to report to the public on the progress and results of national tasks during President Moon’s term, 50 days before its end. It is reported that this white paper will remain accessible to the public even after the end of the term.
