Securing Nighttime Drivers' Visibility to Prevent Major Accidents
[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do conducted a crackdown on illegal overnight parking in residential areas on the 19th and imposed fines.
This crackdown targeted cargo vehicles and construction machinery illegally parked for more than one hour outside of garages from midnight to 4 a.m. the next day in densely populated residential areas such as Yongang Humansia, Queensville, Jungheung S-Class, and Huimangga.
Among the vehicles caught, cargo trucks will be subject to administrative measures or fines, and construction machinery will be fined between 50,000 and 300,000 KRW depending on the number of violations.
Moon Dong-il, Director of the Construction and Transportation Division, stated, “We will conduct regular crackdowns on illegal overnight parking to secure nighttime drivers’ visibility and prevent large traffic accidents around residential areas, thereby creating a safe living environment.”
