[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Steel Association Wire Rod Council held its 2022 regular general meeting and board meeting, and announced on the 18th that Park Jaecheon, chairman of Kostil and the inaugural chairman, was appointed as the new chairman.

Chairman Park said, "I feel a heavy responsibility being re-elected as chairman amid various internal and external changes," and added, "I will strive to contribute qualitatively to the growth of the domestic wire rod industry."

At the board meeting, the council selected expanding the demand base for new and renewable energy, establishing measures to stabilize the domestic market, and improving systems to activate demand as this year's business directions, and decided to carry out related projects.

The council is a committee launched in March 2015 to enhance the competitiveness of the wire rod industry and increase demand creation, with 20 major wire rod companies including Kostil, Goryeo Steel, and SeAH Special Steel participating as member companies.
