Wide Search Radius in Mountainous Areas Including Valleys... Police and Information Sharing 'All-Out Effort'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters 119 Special Rescue Team is making every effort to search for a missing elderly person in their 70s by utilizing drones.

According to Jeonnam Fire on the 17th, a woman in her 70s, Ms. A, went missing around 3 p.m. on the 14th in Hoecheon-myeon, Boseong-gun.

Ms. A is known to have lost contact while visiting her younger sibling's house.

The search has entered its third day, and search and rescue in mountainous areas is challenging due to many valleys and forest terrains that are difficult to visually inspect and access, as well as the wide search radius.

Accordingly, Jeonnam Fire is using drones to search extensive valley and mountainous areas and is sharing information with the Jeonnam Police.

A representative of the Jeonnam 119 Special Rescue Team said, “Given the nature of missing person incidents, rapid initial response is a critical matter directly related to saving lives,” adding, “We will cooperate closely with related agencies and do our best to ensure the missing person can return to their family as soon as possible.”
