[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte has opened a recruitment specialty hall called ‘Elikru Town’ in the metaverse and will hold the ‘2022 Lotte Grand Job Fair’ on the 17th together with 21 group companies. This is the first time that Lotte is conducting a metaverse recruitment and consultation briefing session at the group level.
Lotte planned Elikru Town focusing on the fact that the metaverse space allows free expression of opinions, enables personality expression through avatars, and has high accessibility with fewer time and space constraints, which is preferred by applicants. Starting with this recruitment consultation, Lotte plans to expand the use of the metaverse for recruitment promotion, interviews, and training. They will also strengthen two-way communication with job seekers by holding regular online tea time at Angel-in-us implemented in the virtual world.
Elikru Town, implemented on the metaverse platform ‘ZEP’, includes an outdoor plaza centered around Lotte World Tower, recruitment consultation rooms by job category, briefing halls, a history hall where visitors can watch Lotte’s growth story through animation, a gallery introducing Lotte’s slogan and each group company, and an event zone.
Twenty-one group companies, including Lotte e-commerce, Lotte Information & Communication, and Lotte Department Store, which plan to recruit in the first half of the year, will participate in this recruitment consultation and explain jobs related to IT, data analysis, research and development, MD, overseas business, and more.
Lotte accepted applications for 12 days from the 2nd and received about 2,000 applicants. Technical job categories such as IT, engineering, and data analysis were the first to close due to high popularity. Applicants can participate in the recruitment consultation. The consultation will be held in three sessions according to the job category for the convenience of participants. Events such as learning about Lotte through OX quizzes and finding hidden treasures are also prepared.
Lotte will actively utilize the metaverse to deliver job information and continue efforts to create an applicant-friendly recruitment culture. They provide employment know-how through YouTube content such as ‘Radio Where Employment is Visible’, and share the lives of Lotte employees through ‘Living in Lotte Valley’ and ‘Vlog’, familiar content for the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), to inform about job opportunities. In the future, linked with Lotte Information & Communication’s ultra-realistic metaverse platform business, they plan to enable experiencing Lotte’s standards in metaverse recruitment and interviews as well.
