Goodoc to Promote Non-Face-to-Face Medical Services for Overseas Koreans... Passes Regulatory Sandbox

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Mobile healthcare platform company Goodoc is embarking on establishing a non-face-to-face medical consultation system for domestic hospitals targeting overseas Koreans residing abroad.

Goodoc announced on the 16th that it has completed the temporary approval process for the 'Overseas Koreans Non-Face-to-Face Medical Consultation Service' at the Industrial Convergence Regulatory Special Committee and has begun preparing a real-time matching type non-face-to-face medical consultation service for overseas Koreans.

Through the 'Overseas Koreans Non-Face-to-Face Medical Consultation Service,' which is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year, Goodoc plans to support non-face-to-face medical consultations at hospitals and clinics using a video system for overseas Koreans residing abroad. After the non-face-to-face consultation, prescription issuance will also be supported, allowing overseas residents to receive prescribed medication by having a domestic proxy collect the prescription and send it locally.

The company expects that since this service supports prescription issuance within the domestic medical infrastructure after non-face-to-face consultation, it will help resolve the medical blind spots experienced by overseas Koreans who have been unable to receive medical benefits abroad due to spatial and temporal limitations.

Jinseok Lim, CEO of Goodoc, stated, “This service aligns with the original intent of the Regulatory Special Committee to help resolve the medical blind spots of overseas residents and hopes to serve as an opportunity to further expand Korea’s excellent medical infrastructure system. The Goodoc platform’s non-face-to-face medical consultation model, which matches patients with the necessary medical staff in real time, is currently preparing for overseas market entry as well. We plan to develop various healthcare system functions that can maximize synergy from a business linkage perspective.”
