[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gachon University opened the AI Engineering Building and the 3rd Student Dormitory on the 15th.
The AI Engineering Building and the 3rd Student Dormitory are located on the upper side of the campus where the 1st and 2nd Student Dormitories are situated, at the foot of Yeongjangsan Mountain, with a total of seven floors.
The AI Engineering Building features a dynamic and rhythmic exterior that embodies Gachon University's relentless spirit of challenge and passion, emphasizing harmony with the excellent natural scenery inside and outside the campus and balance with surrounding buildings.
In particular, it is characterized by the Gachon Madang, a student-centered space for creative cultural activities and various events, as well as the Central Garden, a diverse communication space reflecting active change, and the Cube Building, a communication space floating in the sky of the Central Garden connected via a bridge.
The rooftop is designed to allow direct access without level difference from the playground height, making the rooftop rest area more easily accessible, and an elevator with a scenic view is also installed.
The AI Engineering Building houses lecture rooms and faculty research offices for advanced departments such as the AI and Software Department, Computer Engineering Department, and next-generation semiconductor programs, as well as the SW-Centered University Project Group.
The 3rd Student Dormitory has a total capacity of 720 people. Currently, the 1st and 2nd Dormitories can accommodate 636 and 984 people respectively.
