[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Yoon Seok-yeol, the president-elect of the 20th Republic of Korea, avoided giving a direct answer when asked about the controversy surrounding Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, related to 'Daejang-dong.'
On the morning of the 10th at 11 a.m., at the National Assembly Library Auditorium, during a meeting with reporters following his victory greeting, Yoon was asked, "During the presidential election process, you mentioned the need for a strong investigation regarding candidate Lee's Daejang-dong allegations. Has your position changed?" He replied, "I think it’s better not to talk about Daejang-dong today," adding, "As I always say, all issues should be addressed through the system."
Along with this, Yoon also promised cooperation with the current government. When asked, "How will you set the relationship with the current administration?" he explained, "The only thing to consider is what benefits and helps the people," and added, "I will cooperate well with the current government to smoothly take over the government organization without causing inconvenience to the people."
Yoon further stated, "Among the tasks currently being pursued by the government, we will continue to manage those that need to be sustained, and for areas requiring new changes, we will boldly promote change and reform."
