[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting participants for the ‘Seoul 50+ Meaningful Job Project’ at the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center until March 18.
The ‘Seoul 50+ Meaningful Job Project’ is a Seoul city job program designed for middle-aged and older adults aged 50 and above to contribute to society by utilizing their experience and capabilities, allowing them to find new experiences.
The recruitment target is Seoul residents aged 50 to 67 as of the application date, with relaxed eligibility for lower-income groups aged 40 to 67. Participants will work 57 hours per month and receive a monthly activity allowance of 525,020 KRW.
Residents wishing to participate can apply through the ‘Social Contribution/Jobs’ section on the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center website.
Additionally, the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center is opening regular courses for the first semester of 2022 starting in March. The first semester courses are divided into three areas: the ‘Life Planning Area,’ which supports financial management, health care, relationship building, and cultural activities; the ‘Work & Activity Area,’ which supports social activities through professionalism and career development; and the ‘Participant Support Area,’ where the 50+ generation can directly plan and create courses.
Applications for each course can be submitted on the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center website starting three weeks before the course begins. A total of about 40 online and offline courses will be operated sequentially until June. Only those who have received the third COVID-19 vaccination can attend offline courses.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “In the era of aging, life redesign for the middle-aged generation is becoming increasingly important,” and added, “I hope the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center will become a compass that changes perceptions about the lives and old age of the 50+ generation and guides a new direction for the latter half of life.”
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center.
