Spring Brings Eco-Friendly and Vegan Trends to Hotel Industry Courtyard Marriott Seoul Namdaemun, 'Spring with Vegan Beauty' Package.


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] With the arrival of spring, the hotel industry is embracing an eco-friendly and vegan trend. From spring season room packages including solid shampoo bars and rinse bars to eco-friendly vegan concept rooms where guests can experience the vegan trend while enjoying a hotel stay, there is a wide variety of offerings.


According to the hotel industry on the 9th, reflecting the meaning-out (choosing products based on values or beliefs) tendency of the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), which has emerged as the new mainstream consumer group for hotels, various hotels are launching diverse promotions targeting those interested in zero waste, eco-friendly, and vegan products.


Courtyard Marriott Seoul Namdaemun is introducing the 'Spring with Vegan Beauty' package in collaboration with the vegan beauty brand Arencia. Available until May 31, this package includes one night’s stay, breakfast buffet for two at Momo Cafe, Arencia shampoo bar, and The Satin rinse bar. Package guests can use the fitness center and in-room Wi-Fi free of charge. When selecting Executive Premier, Executive Deluxe, or Executive Suite rooms, two Executive Lounge benefits are additionally provided, allowing access to happy hour and alcoholic beverage services. This package was planned to practice 'zero waste' by reducing waste output through the use of solid shampoo and rinse bars that do not require plastic containers.


Courtyard Marriott Seoul Times Square is offering the 'Earth Save Green' package until the 31st to participate in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. Collaborating with eco-startup Sustainable Lab’s eco-friendly brand 'Eden,' the hotel has replaced in-room amenity products with eco-friendly items, leading the 'Eco Green Campaign' to reduce plastic use. The package includes one night’s stay, a 'Vegan Shower Earth Kit for Travel,' and breakfast for two. The 'Vegan Shower Earth Kit for Travel' contains six eco-friendly amenities without plastic containers. For families, kids’ Eden Earthbrush and bamboo travel cases are additionally provided.


Spring Brings Eco-Friendly and Vegan Trends to Hotel Industry Rescape, 'Sustainable Journey' Package.


Escape is collaborating with luxury outdoor brand Nordisk to offer the 'Sustainable Journey' package until the 30th of next month. As part of Chosun Hotel & Resort’s sustainable eco-friendly campaign 'Chosun Greenway,' this package includes one night’s stay and two goods made by upcycling Escape’s room bedding linens. The linens are premium bedding brand Julia B products, made from 100% natural cotton and handmade in Italy. Noticing that the hotel regularly generates discarded linens, they collaborated with Nordisk on an upcycling project. The linens were reborn as a white bucket hat and bucket bag.


Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas is offering the 'Green Stay' package from the 11th to May 31, providing items for eco-friendly practice. The benefits include two 'Stojo' eco-friendly tumblers engraved with the hotel logo and one InterContinental eco bag. 'Stojo' is a foldable, portable silicone cup made from eco-friendly materials, including a reusable straw. During the stay, guests who bring their personal tumblers to the hotel’s first-floor Grand Deli will receive two complimentary Americanos.

Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel has launched the 'Sweet Healing with Dalba' package. Guests staying in a suite room will receive a gift box worth 160,000 KRW containing premium vegan beauty brand 'Dalba' products such as spray serum, oil cream cleanser, double serum and cream, essence sunscreen, and a leather tray. Also provided are a bottle of red wine 'Bel Colle Barbera d’Alba Superiore Le March' produced in the Piemonte Alba region of Italy and healthy snacks (homemade muesli bar, white truffle chocolate, fruit). Breakfast buffet, evening cocktails, free sauna service included in the club lounge benefits, as well as access to the indoor swimming pool and fitness center. Available from March 21 to June 30.


Walkerhill Hotel & Resort has introduced the industry’s first vegan concept room, the 'Vegan Exclusive Room,' as part of its eco-friendly hotel activities, and launched the 'Begin Vegan' package to experience it. The vegan exclusive rooms were created in three 'Family Deluxe Suite' rooms at Grand Walkerhill. The bedding and pillow covers use eco-friendly 'Oeko-Tex' certified products, and instead of goose down, vegan filling certified by the Korea Vegan Certification Institute was used. Towels, gowns, and bathroom mats are also eco-friendly products labeled with international fair trade certification. The cushions and seat leather are made of 'plant-based hanji leather,' and a Finnish 'Smart Green Wall' is installed, serving as a natural air purifier. Room amenities are also carefully selected eco-friendly products. The package includes a 'beauty set' with sunscreen and lip butter from 'Melixir,' Korea’s first vegan cosmetics brand. Breakfast is served as room service with cleanse juice, pesticide-free vegetable salad, vegan bread, meatballs made from alternative meat, and homemade granola. The vegan concept room is also equipped with an indoor bicycle with a generator.


Lotte Hotel Jeju is offering the 'Save the Earth' package. Part of the sales proceeds from this package will be donated to 'Save Jeju Sea,' which leads efforts to clean Jeju’s ocean. Package benefits include one night’s stay in a Deluxe Mountain Room, breakfast for two at The Canvas (per night), one set of vegan protein bars, one set of eco-friendly vegan amenities, and one vegan lip balm. The stay period is until April 1. Additionally, the 'ACE Beachcombing' program is prepared to actively protect the beautiful Jeju sea. Beachcombing refers to the activity of collecting trash by raking the beach. Participation is free, and the ACE Club provides a beachcombing kit consisting of eco-friendly vinyl gloves and tie-back bags.
