[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Jeollabuk-do Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Min-cheol) announced on the 7th that it held the 2022 3rd Jeollabuk-do Fire Investigation Competition, where fire investigators competed in fire investigation skills at a scheduled demolition building in Gunsan.
This competition was held with 26 fire investigators selected from 13 fire stations in the province, who analyzed fire patterns to identify the point of origin and cause of the fire and estimated property damage.
As a result of the competition, Gochang Fire Station took first place, Gunsan Fire Station second, and Buan Fire Station third.
The Fire Investigation Competition is held annually to improve fire investigators' understanding of fire patterns and their investigation skills.
Especially this year, two rooms (each 30㎡) on the first floor of a scheduled demolition reinforced concrete building were set up to resemble actual one-room apartments and offices. Fires were started and extinguished with different causes in each room, and fire investigators competed by conducting on-site investigations to assess the accuracy of fire cause determinations.
Chief Choi Min-cheol of the Fire Headquarters said, “The results of fire investigations are important data for establishing proactive fire prevention measures,” and urged, “Through enhancing professional fire investigation skills, improve investigation techniques and cause identification abilities, and do your best in the field of fire investigation.”
