[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Woomi Global, a subsidiary of Woomi Construction and a proptech-focused investment firm, has invested 2 billion KRW in 'GoQual,' which operates the home Internet of Things (IoT) brand 'HeyHome.'
Founded in 2014, GoQual operates the smart home IoT brand HeyHome. Within three years of launching HeyHome, GoQual secured 300,000 users and raised 5 billion KRW in Series A funding last July from investors including Hanssem.
Leading this investment, Woomi Global is a subsidiary of Woomi Construction, known for its apartment brand 'Lynn.' Woomi Construction has continuously invested in startups such as those in proptech, fostering a healthy industrial ecosystem.
Based on this investment, GoQual plans to strengthen its IoT-based space management technology and accelerate integration with various IT services.
They are speeding up efforts to dominate the 'lifestyle-oriented IoT platform' market, where online and offline spaces evolve into personalized environments reflecting users' lifestyle data within this year. To this end, they will actively recruit talent to pioneer the smart space market together.
GoQual intends to expand its business into software-as-a-service (SaaS) that automates spaces for various purposes and into the life commerce sector based on users' lifestyle patterns.
Meanwhile, GoQual is preparing to open its first showroom in mid-month. Located at its headquarters in Gasan-dong, this showroom will allow visitors to directly experience IoT technology applied to spaces such as smart homes, smart stores, and smart offices, and to engage with the HeyHome brand.
