Korea University of Technology and Education recently announced on the 6th that it will be the first university in the country to recruit for the 'Industrial Safety Policy Executive Program' amid growing interest in the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
The program targets top executives related to safety, including CEOs of companies, heads of metropolitan and local governments, and heads of public institutions. The educational goal is to maximize the practical industrial safety expertise of safety management officers, including industrial safety management and crisis management capabilities in the event of disasters.
To this end, the curriculum will be operated with instructors composed of industry safety field experts such as government officials, the Korea Employers Federation, the Korea Industrial Safety Association, the Korean Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and academia.
The program offers courses on policies and laws such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accident Punishment Act, excellent corporate cases in safety, health, management, and humanities fields, the latest trends, and field visits.
Applications are open until the 18th and can be submitted online or via email. The education period lasts one year, conducted every Tuesday over a total of 24 weeks.
President Seonggi Lee said, "At a time when social interest in industrial safety is rising, we have been considering ways to contribute to society as a government-affiliated national university," adding, "We will focus the university's capabilities on nurturing excellent industrial safety experts."
