[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The police will hold the 'First Half Policy Research Service Review Committee' to review 35 submitted projects, including a study on the current status of police human rights.
According to the police on the 1st, the 'First Half Policy Research Service Review Committee' will be held at the National Police Agency on the 3rd. On this day, the review committee will examine 35 projects that were confirmed for submission after receiving policy research proposals by department last month, conducting a preliminary briefing session led by the Science and Security Policy Team, and reviewing the project contents and the possibility of linking with R&D projects. Specifically, the projects under review include ▲a study on the current status of police human rights ▲a study on countermeasures against industrial technology leakage through headhunters ▲a quantitative study on public benefits following the adjustment of investigative authority ▲an advanced study on the credibility assessment of testimonies from child and disabled victims ▲a study presenting measures to minimize stress among cyber sexual violence investigators ▲a study on the overseas payment suspension system for freezing and recovering criminal proceeds transferred abroad.
The review committee will be attended by 12 internal and external evaluators. Internal members include seven people, such as the Planning and Coordination Officer as the chairperson, the head of the Science and Security Policy Team, and officers in charge of innovation planning, finance, police administration, audit, and the Planning and Operations Division of the Police Science Research Institute. External members include five people, such as Professor Jinwook Kim from Seoul National University of Science and Technology. The police plan to proceed with contracts by department for the projects confirmed through the review committee and start research within this month. Projects not selected will be supported for research as urgent tasks at the Kyungdae Security Policy Research Institute.
