T'way Air Expands Partnership with 'Watcha' Service... "Book a Flight Ticket and Get a 10-Day Free Coupon"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 28th that it will continue to provide a service allowing passengers to watch various video content for free through a partnership with the over-the-top (OTT) platform 'Watcha' this year as well.

This partnership service has been ongoing for three years since 2020. This year, with the introduction of the A330-300 aircraft, the airline has strengthened its in-flight entertainment service in preparation for long-haul routes.

Previously, a basic pass with FHD quality, playable on one device, was provided. This year, a premium pass with up to UHD 4K quality, playable simultaneously on four devices, will be offered.

From March 1 to December 31, passengers who book tickets or board through the T'way Air website, mobile app, or web can receive a coupon to use the Watcha service free of charge for 10 days.

The coupon can be found in the reservation confirmation email, My Reservations section, or on the ticket purchase completion page. It is provided to the first 80,000 people each month on a first-come, first-served basis.

To watch Watcha content on the aircraft, passengers should download movies and dramas onto their devices before boarding to comfortably enjoy the content during the flight.

In particular, the economy class seats of the A330-300 aircraft are equipped with personal device holders and USB charging ports at each table, enabling a more comfortable viewing experience.

Among visitors to the Watcha event page held last year, 42% of passengers registered their coupons and used the service to enjoy various content during their travels.

Watcha is a leading domestic OTT service with over 10 million app downloads. It offers unlimited viewing of about 100,000 titles, including movies, dramas, entertainment shows, documentaries, and animations.

A T'way Air official stated, “Through continuous partnership, we will provide an environment where T'way Air passengers can comfortably enjoy entertainment onboard.”
