"Gender Division... 'Idaenam' Gained Attention but Comes with Consequences"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] With the 20th presidential election just 9 days away, on the 27th, former director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Yoo Si-min said, "I don't know who will win, but mixing in a bit of hope, I think Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, is the frontrunner."
Former Director Yoo appeared on KBS 1TV's 'Let's Do Politics 2' aired that day and said, "We judge the situation based on opinion polls, but there may be factors not yet fully reflected. I believe there are elements underrepresented in Candidate Lee's support rate," expressing this view.
He pointed out, "In particular, the actions of Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, who focused on attracting votes from men in their 20s and 30s through 'gender division,' and Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party presidential candidate's pledge to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, have attracted the attention of so-called 'Idae-nam' (men in their 20s and 30s), but there are consequences that come with that."
He added, "(Whether the People Power Party) will have to pay the price for such gender division is still uncertain, but there remains the possibility of strategic voting by women in their 20s and 30s."

Former Director Yoo also compared the election to a war, saying, "A war ends only when infantry occupies enemy territory. No matter how superior missiles or aircraft are, infantry must ultimately take the ground."
He said, "Supporters must go to the polling stations for victory. How desperate and earnest the supporters of the two candidates are will determine the final outcome. I believe Candidate Lee's supporters are much more concretely desperate than Candidate Yoon's supporters."
While making this prediction, Former Director Yoo said, "If someone says 'bet 500 won,' I think betting on Candidate Lee is more realistic." When the host and panel joked about betting bigger, he replied, "It's not that I'm confident; if I were, I would bet 5 million won."
Earlier, he had evaluated Candidate Lee as smarter than Candidate Yoon. On the 24th, appearing on MBC's 'News Outside Focus,' Former Director Yoo said Candidate Lee's strength is "being smart."
He emphasized, "Candidate Yoon passed on his 9th attempt when 1,000 judicial trainees were selected, while Candidate Lee passed on his 2nd attempt when 300 were selected."
