The Yoon campaign team sent a text message to reporters at 8:40 a.m., 20 minutes before the campaign was to start, stating, "We inform you that Candidate Yoon will not be able to attend the campaign today due to circumstances. We ask for your understanding." It is known that Yoon's sudden cancellation was due to the unification issue with Ahn Cheol-soo, the People's Party presidential candidate.

Originally, the People Power Party had announced the campaign with Yoon attending under the title "A President who protects the dignity of Yeongju, the hometown of scholars!" the day before.

Mr. Lee said, "I only heard 10 minutes before that Candidate Yoon was not coming," adding, "Everyone who waited for Yoon is cursing." He raised his voice, saying, "I didn't even officially hear that he wouldn't come; I heard it from a passing party member.
