[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City in Gyeongnam will provide disaster relief funds to workers in special employment types and freelancers.

The target includes special employment type workers and freelancers who are registered residents of Changwon City, have worked for more than 3 months since July 2021, and can provide proof of career and income with a total of 30 or more days of labor provided.

On the 21st, the government's special employment type and freelancer emergency employment stabilization fund, which was not included in the initial government plan, was additionally confirmed during the National Assembly review process, allowing recipients to receive up to 1.5 million KRW by combining the Changwon-type disaster relief fund of 500,000 KRW and the government's emergency employment stabilization fund.

Applications can be submitted online through the Changwon City website and by registered mail from February 28 to March 18, and in-person applications are accepted from March 10 to March 18 at the former wedding hall on the 1st floor of Seongsan Art Hall.

In-person visits are possible from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and election days, but applicants need to check the available dates based on the last digit of their birth year.

A city official advised that the required documents vary by industry and there are some differences in eligibility criteria between the 6th Changwon-type special employment type and freelancer disaster relief fund and the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s emergency employment stabilization fund, so applicants should carefully review the announcements on the Changwon City and Ministry of Employment and Labor websites.
