GS Retail's HLB Division Receives MFDS Commendation for Advancing Health Functional Foods

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Retail announced on the 25th that Jeon Cheolmin, Executive Director of the HLB Business Division, received a commendation from the Minister of Food and Drug Safety.

This award recognizes GS Retail's contribution to promoting public health and advancing health functional foods. GS Retail leads the TV home shopping industry in both sales volume and the number of health functional food products. Through a fair broadcasting council involving experts from various fields, it systematically prevents exaggerated and misleading broadcasts, setting an exemplary case in the industry.

Additionally, GS Retail has consistently worked to foster win-win growth with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by expanding sales channels for excellent domestic SMEs such as Nutri, FromBio, and HPO through investments and partnerships, and by providing related educational opportunities to partner companies. In particular, through overseas joint ventures in Malaysia and Indonesia, GS Retail supports SMEs' overseas exports by selling domestic health foods abroad.

Executive Director Jeon has worked in the home shopping industry for over 20 years, introducing various food products through TV home shopping. Since last year, he has been leading the health functional food sector of GS Retail's home shopping business unit as the head of the HLB Business Division.
