[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu University’s Next-Generation Semiconductor Innovation Shared University Project Group held the ‘Semiconductor Convergence Talent Scholarship’ award ceremony.


At the event held on the 17th, scholarships were awarded to students who completed the curriculum offered by the Next-Generation Semiconductor Innovation Shared University Project Group in the second semester of last year and demonstrated excellent class participation and academic achievement. A total of 23 scholarship recipients were selected through a review and evaluation process.


Kim Kyung-gi, head of Daegu University’s Next-Generation Semiconductor Innovation Shared University Project Group, said, “We support anyone to explore career paths in the semiconductor field and grow as talent in the semiconductor industry,” adding, “We plan to support various curricular and extracurricular programs.”


Daegu University was selected last year for the Ministry of Education and Korea Research Foundation’s ‘Digital New Technology Talent Development Innovation Shared University’ project.


Including Daegu University, seven universities formed a ‘Next-Generation Semiconductor’ consortium and will receive approximately 80 billion KRW in project funding by 2026 to operate curricular and extracurricular educational programs aimed at nurturing talent in the semiconductor field.
