[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Mobile healthcare platform Goodoc announced on the 19th that it will provide free support for the entire process, including non-face-to-face medical treatment, prescription drug costs, and delivery, for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
Currently, Goodoc offers a non-face-to-face medical treatment system on its platform, allowing users to have video or voice calls with doctors within one minute after requesting medical consultation, without any waiting time. Goodoc's non-face-to-face medical service has received great response, with 5,000 daily users within two weeks of its launch. This service is also available on weekends, when medical service gaps are a concern.
Through this expanded support policy, any COVID-19 patient undergoing home treatment can receive non-face-to-face medical care free of charge without separate hospital consultation fees. Prescription drugs prescribed through non-face-to-face treatment are also supported with free home delivery.
The company stated that as daily Omicron variant cases exceed 100,000 and most medical institutions continue to experience saturation due to bed shortages and telephone prescriptions, they plan to focus all efforts on establishing a non-face-to-face medical treatment system that saves unnecessary time between patients and hospitals, enabling quick medical care without waiting time.
Jinseok Lim, CEO of Goodoc, said, “Given the current trend of increasing demand for non-face-to-face medical treatment, we expect the number of users utilizing Goodoc’s non-face-to-face medical service to exceed 10,000 per day next week. We will strive to contribute to blocking the spread of infectious diseases in line with government quarantine policies by providing convenient services to patients through a system that delivers prescription drugs directly to their homes in situations where home treatment and going out are difficult.”
