Paris Baguette Expands 'Reducing Disposable Knife Campaign' to All Stores

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Paris Baguette announced on the 17th that it will expand the 'Disposable Knife Reduction Campaign,' conducted as part of its ESG management, to all stores.

Since the end of last year, Paris Baguette has been piloting a campaign at directly operated stores where disposable plastic knives provided with cake purchases are given only upon customer request. They explained that, following strong support from customers and franchise owners, the campaign will be expanded to all 3,400 direct and franchise stores.

The target items have been expanded not only to regular cakes but also to all product categories that include disposable knives by default in the packaging, such as roll cakes, pound cakes, and pies.

Paris Baguette expects to reduce plastic usage by approximately 110 tons annually (based on a 50% reduction in the average annual use of disposable knives) through this initiative.
