[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University has been selected as the '2022 Early Startup Package Host Institution' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The university has been selected as the host institution for the Early Startup Package for three consecutive years since 2020, and will support local early-stage startups again this year.
The Early Startup Package project, promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, provides up to 100 million KRW in commercialization funds to early-stage startups that have been established for less than three years.
In 2020, Dongseo University discovered 24 companies, and in 2021, 22 excellent companies, supporting their commercialization.
Companies supported by Dongseo University's startup support program showed high growth rates of 700% in sales and 273% in employment before and after receiving support.
The university offers customized programs centered on the specialized ‘LEGO Early Startup Support Platform,’ including tailored early startup diagnosis, All-Set consulting, and the LEGO Startup Academy.
With startup support infrastructure built through on-campus startup incubation center spaces, technology-intensive startup bases, and untact video conferencing platforms, the university also provides one-stop startup support services.
Jung Do-woon, head of Dongseo University's Startup Support Group, said, “Since being selected as a Leading Startup University in 2016, we have devoted all efforts to startup support projects and have produced many entrepreneurs. We will do our best to revitalize the local startup culture.”
