On the 10th, at the 'NEMO 2022' keynote speech, Kakao Mobility CTO Seung-il Yoo declared the inaugural year of digital twin construction.
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kakao Mobility announced on the 16th that its first tech conference, ‘NEXT MOBILITY: NEMO 2022 (hereafter NEMO 2022),’ held on the 10th, concluded with a cumulative website visitor count of 230,000, approximately 6,000 pre-registrations both online and offline, and a total video view count of 25,000.
NEMO 2022 is a technology conference that highlights mobility and shares insights from global leading technology companies. Kakao Mobility, the organizer of the conference, explained that through various programs, it not only helped the public understand mobility technology but also presented a vision that broadens the horizon of mobility technology by showing directions related to practical lifestyle changes through future technologies.
A total of 21 domestic and international experts in various mobility fields participated as speakers in this event, presenting a converged innovation technology paradigm of the rapidly changing mobility industry through diverse topics such as digital twins, autonomous driving, and UAM. The four keynote speakers also agreed during a panel discussion that realizing the advancement of future mobility technology requires ▲ cooperation between companies ▲ a comprehensive approach to mobility including technology and culture ▲ consideration of various market linkages and use cases beyond merely supporting human movement.
Through NEMO 2022, Kakao Mobility also established a new benchmark for the success of tech conferences. According to a survey conducted with a total of 1,000 online and offline participants after the event, 90.1% of respondents said the conference was beneficial. Additionally, 97.3% of respondents expressed their intention to participate again if the event is held next year. The most satisfying elements of the conference (multiple responses allowed) were ▲ the quality of keynote speeches and technical sessions (79.5%) ▲ the tech exhibition including MMS, autonomous vehicles, LG OmniPod, etc. (27.7%) ▲ event information guidance (25.2%), demonstrating high overall satisfaction with the conference.
Moreover, interest in Kakao Mobility’s identity as a technology company increased. After NEMO 2022, the corporate image of Kakao Mobility was perceived as ▲ ‘a company innovating technology’ by 66.7% of respondents, followed by ▲ ‘a company realizing economies of scale’ (22.4%) and ▲ ‘a company practicing ESG’ (8.9%).
Regarding Kakao Mobility’s core competencies that can materialize technological innovation, ▲ 32.5% of respondents selected ‘Kakao T,’ the largest fully integrated MaaS app in Korea used by 30 million people, ▲ Kakao brand value (24%), ▲ R&D capabilities (22.5%), and ▲ a large user base (19.9%) were also chosen.
