[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Following actors Kim Eui-sung and Park Hyuk-kwon publicly endorsing Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, actor Lee Ki-young has now expressed his support for the candidate, stating, "Fake fairness! I no longer believe in it." In response, Lee said, "I am truly grateful for such a difficult decision made as a public entertainer."
On the 15th, Lee Ki-young posted on his Facebook, saying, "Fake fairness among themselves! I no longer believe in it. It is not just. I want to see the development of the culture and arts sector and a country where people truly live happily." He added, "I fully embrace those wishes and actively support and cheer for the candidate," encouraging people to vote in the 20th presidential election.
In response, the candidate shared the post on Facebook, saying, "Let's create together a country infinitely strong in culture, as dreamed by Kim Gu, a country where K-culture dominates the world."
He continued, "I will support but not interfere! I will create a rich cultural and artistic country without blacklists!" and proposed, "Let's make the dream of a cultural powerhouse a reality together."

This is not the first time entertainers have publicly supported the candidate. Before Lee Ki-young, actors Kim Eui-sung and Park Hyuk-kwon also declared their support for the candidate.
On the 1st, Kim Eui-sung posted directly on the online community DC Inside's 'Lee Jae-myung Gallery' to cheer for the candidate. In a post titled "Hey, you rookies," he said, "Please stop acting like sunfish swayed by polls," adding, "Polls have long ceased to be polls and have become a distorted election campaign tool. Just light a candle in your heart, meet people, persuade them, share candles, and go to the polling station together. Then we will win."
Kim Eui-sung particularly described this presidential election as "a battle between the best candidate ever and the weakest candidate ever," emphasizing, "It’s frustrating that it’s so close, but this close race is the result of them pulling together even their souls. There is no more."
Park Hyuk-kwon also stated in a support declaration on the 6th, "I have been watching the candidate since he was the mayor of Seongnam," emphasizing, "I wondered if he could represent us and uphold our dignity in any position. After watching the candidate for a long time, my judgment is 'Yes.'"
He added, "I have thought that an actor’s virtue is to minimize exposure outside of acting. But lately, I feel uneasy, and I am scared that if I don’t do this, I will regret it greatly later, so I timidly show my face like this," supporting the candidate "for a better us, for a better world."
The candidate expressed gratitude, saying, "Just as one person’s courage changes the world, I will live up to expectations so that the actor’s courage is not in vain."
184 People Including Shin Dae-cheol and Jung Doo-hong Declare "Support for Lee Jae-myung"
In addition to them, 184 figures from various fields, including popular entertainers and cultural artists such as Shin Dae-cheol, leader of the band Sinawe, and martial arts director Jung Doo-hong, declared their support for the candidate.
Besides entertainers like comedians Kang Sung-beom and Seo Seung-man, who have already publicly expressed their support, various figures active in TV and radio current affairs programs, such as Professor Choi Jin-bong of Sungkonghoe University, commentator Oh Chang-seok, and lawyers Yang So-young, Kim Yoon-woo, and Yang Ji-yeol, also signed the declaration of support.
In the declaration, they explained, "Our Republic of Korea must never regress to the times when blacklists were rampant, and freedom of creation, expression, and cultural arts were suppressed, with dictatorship and political manipulation rampant. We, who have gathered our will this time, actively support the candidate who guarantees our people’s freedom of creation and expression and has vision and philosophy for the development of our country’s culture and arts."
They urged the candidate, "Please do your best to create a warmer Korea where all life is dignified, a truly beautiful Korea where culture and arts develop day by day, a Korea where everyone, including socioeconomically disadvantaged and common people, can live well, and a hopeful Korea overflowing with the dreams and hopes of students and youth."
