At the meeting held in the 7th-floor conference room of the Seegene Medical Foundation, in-depth discussions were held regarding response strategies and testing directions amid the recent surge in confirmed cases.

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) received a scholarship fund of 100 million KRW on the morning of the 11th from Dongyang Industrial Development (CEO Go Soon-gil) to foster local talent.

The scholarship fund received that day will be used through the Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation to support the education of children from low-income families, including basic livelihood security recipients and single-parent households.

This is not Dongyang Industrial Development’s first act of sharing for the local community. Since 2019, it has been donating to neighbors in need within the region. To date, the total scholarship funds donated to support the education of low-income children amount to 386 million KRW.

On the 10th, Yongsan-gu Mayor Seong Jang-hyun visited the rapid antigen testing site set up within the district’s comprehensive administrative town screening clinic to inspect on-site operations and encourage staff.

Rapid antigen tests, introduced due to the spread of Omicron, require test applicants to collect their own specimens under the guidance of public health center staff. Results are available in 15 to 30 minutes; if negative, a certificate is issued and the person is sent home, while a positive result leads to a PCR test.

For those wishing to perform rapid antigen tests at home, self-test kits are distributed at the screening clinic. One person is limited to one test per day. Unlike on-site testers at the screening clinic, those testing at home cannot receive a certificate even if the result is negative.

The screening clinic operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays (closed for disinfection from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.) and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends and holidays. A total of 46 personnel are assigned.

Mayor Seong Jang-hyun of Yongsan-gu said, “We will respond quickly to the spread of infection through the operation of the new rapid antigen testing system,” and expressed thanks to the staff working hard on site.
