[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] YJM Games announced on the 8th that virtual reality (VR) technology company Woon Universe has secured a new investment of 6 billion KRW. Leveraging this investment, they plan to enter the metaverse entertainment sector in partnership with Chorokbaem Media.
Comprehensive content company Chorokbaem Media also invested in Woon Universe. Woon Universe has achieved a cumulative investment of 28 billion KRW. Together with Chorokbaem, Woon Universe plans to continue collaboration in various fields, including content production targeting metaverse platforms beyond their existing VR business.
Min Yongjae, CEO of Woon Universe, stated, "The metaverse that Oneimals pursues is based on real-life experiences," adding, "We will unveil a comprehensive metaverse encompassing medical, entertainment, and SNS sectors in the first quarter."
Woon Universe, an affiliate of YJM Games, is a newly launched life-connected metaverse specialist company formed by the merger of metaverse VR specialist developer Oneimals and Bomber Studio, the top graphics studio in Korea. They focus on metaverse areas such as games, platforms, virtual real estate, medical services, and meetings.
