[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Urbanbase Co., Ltd. announced on the 8th that it will hold a 'free entry' event throughout February for small and medium-sized home furnishing and interior companies considering digital transformation.

Providing 3D product modeling worth 1 million KRW and free entry opportunities on the Urbanbase platform, it supports meeting over 100,000 potential interior customers in the mirror world built by Urbanbase.

With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, non-face-to-face consumption has become a routine pattern even in the interior industry. In fact, Urbanbase conducted an 'Interior Purchase Experience Survey' in December last year targeting 500 men and women residing in Korea, and 80% of respondents answered that 3D interior was necessary during the home interior process. The number of people who said their corporate image improved after using 3D interior increased by about 62% compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.

Reflecting this trend, major furniture companies such as Hanssem, Casamia, and Illoom are actively utilizing metaverse technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to increase consumer touchpoints without boundaries between virtual and offline.

On the other hand, relatively smaller home furnishing and interior companies recognize the need to introduce non-face-to-face technologies but face difficulties in adoption due to issues such as manpower and costs.

Accordingly, Urbanbase prepared an event to provide practical benefits to companies by supporting modeling costs for 10 best-selling products per brand, considering that 3D modeling is the most challenging part before introducing non-face-to-face services such as 3D interior and AR.

Furthermore, the modeled products will be listed on the Urbanbase platform and exposed to over 100,000 customers preparing for actual interior work, with product purchase links connected so that listed companies can also enjoy purchase conversion effects.

Urbanbase also provides a one-stop 'Interior Consultation' function that allows users to meet construction experts who can realize the decorated space in reality through a simulation service that calls up 3D floor plans of the actual apartment they live in with one click and enables customized interior design.

Kim Ki-seop, head of Urbanbase sales team, said, "The demand for 3D interior services that can propose more intuitive and reliable space consulting to customers is increasing," adding, "We prepared this event to support companies considering service introduction due to various constraints. We hope for active interest and participation from companies."
