[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The full investigation into whether the coffee franchise 'Coffee Evanhada' violated the Framework Act on the Construction Industry, which had been ongoing since last year, has been closed with a "no prosecution" decision.
Coffee Evanhada was investigated by the Paju Police Station on suspicion of carrying out construction work through an affiliated company that was not officially registered as a construction business while providing free interior support to franchise stores. It was announced on the 8th that the case was decided as no prosecution on the 20th of last month.
With about 1,000 franchise stores nationwide, Coffee Evanhada's policy intended to help franchisees was hindered due to a misunderstanding of the law.
Im Eun-sung, CEO of Coffee Evanhada, apologized to franchise owners, saying, "All matters have been resolved, so please do not worry. We apologize for causing concern over a long period," and added, "We will work harder to increase franchise sales and grow the brand."
Coffee Evanhada values its "4 No" policy, which includes no franchise fees, no training fees, no royalties, and no interior renewal fees. Recently, it has continued efforts to support franchise openings by providing free interior support to stores opening unmanned smart cafes.
