Jeju Chagwido Finger Laceration 50s Male 'Emergency Transport'

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A man in his 50s with a laceration on his finger was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard from a fishing vessel operating about 126 km southwest of Chagwido, Jeju City.

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 7th, at 11:46 p.m. the previous day, a 3000-ton patrol vessel of the Jeju Coast Guard received a report via SSB from fishing vessel A, operating about 126 km southwest of Chagwido, Jeju City, that a male crew member in his 50s had sustained a laceration on his left ring finger while working.

In response, the Jeju Coast Guard immediately dispatched the 3000-ton patrol vessel that first received the emergency patient report and arrived at the scene at around 1:10 a.m. that day. Using a high-speed launch, they transported the emergency patient in his 50s and one guardian to the medical room on the patrol vessel equipped with a remote emergency medical system.

At around 1:37 a.m., based on the diagnosis by emergency room medical staff at a local hospital connected via the remote emergency medical system, it was determined that the emergency patient needed to be transferred to a hospital. They then moved to Hallim Port and arrived at 6:24 a.m.

The emergency patient and guardian were safely handed over to a 119 ambulance waiting nearby.

Meanwhile, this year, the Jeju Coast Guard has transported a total of three emergency patients by patrol vessels and other means, and last year, they transported a total of 45 emergency patients, playing a leading role in protecting the lives of the public.
