Increase in Domestic Solution Sales Including Telecommunications Market
Growth in Cloud and Control Service Sectors
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] WINS has achieved its highest performance for three consecutive years, driven by the expansion of its telecommunications market business and increased sales of cloud monitoring services.
WINS announced on the 7th that it recorded consolidated sales of 96.4 billion KRW and operating profit of 21 billion KRW last year. On a separate basis, it achieved sales of 90.4 billion KRW and operating profit of 20 billion KRW.
Compared to the same period last year, consolidated sales and operating profit increased by 2.7% and 12.0%, respectively. On a separate basis, they rose by 1.3% and 9.5%, respectively.
Analyzing performance by segment, the solution division led the improvement with a 250% increase in sales of the 100G Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) supplied to telecommunications companies compared to the previous year.
A WINS official said, "With the growth of the 5G telecommunications market, sales of the 100G IPS surged," adding, "We expect sales of the 100G IPS to increase again this year through full-scale solution supply, supported by expanded facility investments in the domestic and overseas 5G markets."
This year, WINS plans to expand its sales capabilities in the general corporate market, which had lagged behind the public and telecommunications sectors in the domestic market. It is targeting various overseas expansions beyond Japan.
In the security services division, overall service sales increased by more than 15% year-on-year, including a more than 40% increase in cloud monitoring sales through collaboration with the top domestic public cloud telecommunications company last year.
WINS plans to launch cloud-based products and a security platform utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and big data within the year. It is conducting mutual cooperation with the U.S. company CrowdStrike and plans to expand its cloud MSP (Management Service Provider) business, continuing solid growth through the security services division.
